This Blog is all about losing weight without suffering. Nevertheless, for most people it is still a challenge because while losing weight it’s easy in theory – you just have to reduce your calory intake – it is not easy in practice due to all the good-tasting food that exists all around us.

But as hard as it is to shed pounds, the bigger challenge awaits if you are successful: to maintain the loss!

As time goes by our metabolisms change, so we need to modify our eating habits and follow healthier patterns.

Food is one of life’s greatest pleasures, so why deny ourselves from it?

As a matter of fact, it’s just the other way around. Do not restrain yourself from anything!

There are some strategies that can help you get rid of the excess weight. Next, we will review some simple tips given by the Harvard Medical School “to get the scale moving in the right direction.”

Don’t diet! Improve your diet instead. Focus on overall health instead of focusing solely on losing weight. Follow a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and healthy fat. Eating healthy fats help people control their weight way better than the diets that exclude them. “Adopt a healthy diet, and eat just a little bit less,” says Dr Meir Stampher, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Excercise regularly.  Boosting your activity level, help you lose weight and keep it off. Dr Stampfer strongly recommends to include weight training and callisthenics as well as aerobic activity. Yoga is always a good choice because it includes muscle building, breathing, relaxation, and a healthy lifestyle.

When you have no time to exercise.  Remain active, no matter how.  For example:

1. Don’t send electronic messages, stand up and deliver them personally instead.
2. Always take the stairs, not the elevator.
3. Climb escalators instead of remaining still.

Try a variety of strategies. Different diets work for different people. Listen to your body, it knows best. “One approach that holds promise for many is mindful eating – taking the time to stop and really focus on and enjoy your food.” To be here and now enjoying our meals

Another simple trick is putting your fork down between bites instead of holding it in your hands. Pick it up when you are going to take the next bite.

Constantly vary your food and strategies, this is, keep changing your menus and exercise routines. The body and muscles react a lot faster to those foods and activities they are not used to. Change is always good!

Persevere. Don’t give up! Don’t give in! Each day, commit to eating a little bit less!
